How to apply
Scientists requiring access to the facilities should contact Dr Frenkiel in the first instance. Access to a small amount of time can usually be arranged quickly if this is appropriate.
To obtain a regular allocation of time an application should be made to the Advisory Committee (via Dr Frenkiel) for consideration at its annual meeting. The submission date for the next meeting will be in October 2012. Applications should contain the following information:
- A brief research proposal describing the project(s) you wish to pursue, typically around two pages in length. The description should include:
- Aims of the project;
- Background information and previous work, including any preliminary NMR work that you have carried out;
- Plan of investigation, indicating availability of samples
- Implications for benefitting human health (if any).
- Time requests, in days per year, making separate requests for each spectrometer that is of interest to you.
- List of your publications on this project and related work.
- Statement of your time allocations on other high-field spectrometers (i.e. 500 MHz and upwards).
- Statement of your sources of grant funding for the proposed work.
